Job description
At National Star we realise the aspirations of adults living with complex physical and learning disabilities. The people we support are currently looking for care and support workers to join us.
Whether you’re ready for a change in your career or want to take the next step in a position you’re already passionate about, everything you do will help create a world without limits – for the residents you empower and your own career development. Together we make sure they get the personalised care they need, whether they’re socialising or enjoying their passions and hobbies.
The long-term residents we support at Bradbury Gardens, situated close to Pittville Park in Cheltenham have a wide range of learning and physical disabilities. Like other young people of the same age many of them love fashion, listening to music, shopping, watching sport and socialising with their friends.
You’ll:
- Help with personal care, including washing, dressing and mealtimes
- Plan, organise and accompany residents on days out
- Record and share with families the progress made towards personal goals and aspirations
- Keep in touch with family and friends so residents can spend time together/chat
- Administer medication to residents after receiving relevant training.
Would you describe yourself as hard-working and enthusiastic? If you’re positive and passionate about empowering people with disabilities, then you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
Whether it’s the big moments some of us take for granted or the small triumphs that others wouldn’t expect, together, we focus on what’s possible for every person we support and recognise that the connections we make today are the memories of tomorrow. It’s their life. You make sure they’re busy living it.

National Star is a growing charity with more than 1,200 staff based in England and Wales. Established more than 50 years ago, we’ve supported hundreds of young people with disabilities to achieve their potential.
