Fundraising stars
We're incredibly thankful for our fundraising stars who have taken part in a number of challenges for our charity.
Cheltenham Half Marathon runners
In September, seven runners took to the streets of Cheltenham to raise vital funds for National Star. Between them they raised £6782.46 with everyone raising over the target they set themselves. Congratulations to you all for crossing the line and completing the half marathon distance. Could you lace up your trainers and get sponsored to run a race for National Star?
Superstar students
National Star was chosen as Charity of the Year at Cheltenham College, a local independent secondary school. They organised a fantastic series of fundraising events including a fun run, inflatables challenge, rugby and netball matches and Chapel concerts. Their pupil leadership team visited us at Ullenwood for a tour and attended our hugely inspiring dance evening. Over £20,000 has been raised to pay for life changing physiotherapy equipment.
Tanya’s open water challenge
Physiotherapy Assistant Tanya trained and took on her first 1500m open water swim. ‘Working with National Star students I have become acutely aware of the life-changing effects that specialist equipment can give students. I therefore stepped outside my comfort zone to complete a 1500 metre open water swim in Dartmouth, Blackpool Sands, to raise money for our amazing service,’ said Tanya.
Daredevil fundraisers
This year four daredevils flew to new heights as they took to the skies overlooking the Cotswolds raising a soaring £6,617 for National Star. Congratulations to all of them for taking on this adrenaline challenge. Join next year’s team of wingwalkers by registering today.
Birthday adrenaline
Chris celebrated his birthday by raising £500. He took on a tandem skydive with friends, family and colleagues sponsoring him to mark the occasion. If you have a milestone birthday coming up, would you like to challenge yourself and raise money for National Star?
Local holiday park goes the distance
The team at Hoburne Cotswolds chose National Star as their Charity of the year have already raised over £7,000. They pledged £1 for every holiday booked and have been undertaking a range of fundraising activities including a fishing competition, 200km static cycle ride, tombolas and much more! We’re so thankful to the whole team for being so involved, giving up their free time to volunteer with us, and for raising such an incredible amount.
