Job description
At National Star, we realise the aspirations of young adults living with complex physical and learning disabilities. The young people we support are currently looking for a Registered Manager to join our long-term living accommodation at No 1 Ledbury Road, Hereford.
Whether you’re ready for a change in your career or want to take the next step in a sector you’re already passionate about, this is a great opportunity to join our team to provide a high quality, homely living environment for our residents. Together we make sure our young adults are empowered, active and get the support and personalised care they need, whether they’re relaxing at home, socialising in the community, or enjoying their passions and hobbies.
After a period of probation and settling onto role, we will expect you to be registered with the Care Quality Commission, working to ensure that the home strives to deliver outstanding services maintaining quality and compliance within CQC regulations whilst leading the team to provide a safe, happy and inspirational environment, where residents are encouraged and given guidance to maintain and maximise their potential. Supporting residents to make the best use of opportunities available to them will be at the heart of every member of your team’s practice and you will lead by example.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team seeking to continuously improve quality, you will establish positive relationships with the parents and carers of the residents in your care as well as external professionals, including healthcare professionals and social workers.
You will need to have meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and care plans to maintain accurate records to comply with National Star’s internal quality assurance policies and CQC requirements.
Using your strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges, you will also have responsibility for the financial management of the service, effectively managing budgets, expenses, and financial resources, ensuring financial viability while maintaining quality care standards.
We’d expect you to have a Level 5 qualification in leadership in health and social care. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to multi-task. Your people management skills will be exemplary, and you will have the motivation to develop your team within each of their roles, coupled with the determination to empower young people with disabilities.
There are no limits to your career possibilities at National Star – our current Chief Executive is one of our former Registered Managers. Whether you wish to study towards additional formal qualifications or wish to be mentored to excel in your role, we’ll be right by your side.
Please note: Interviews will be held on the 1st of August 2024
