Mike, who lives in our long-term care at Christie, Bradbury Gardens, has been poorly. His mum Hayleigh says Tyla, Deputy Manager at Christie, Oliver (Ollie), Senior Facilitator and Oliver (Olly), who now works with our peripatetic care team, have been incredible.
“I am overwhelmed by the level of care that Mike has been shown. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and Mike’s wellbeing is central to all that they do,” says Hayleigh.
“Ollie has given up his own free time, working extra hours, so that Mike feels safe. He is relentless in making sure Mike is treated with dignity and respect and I simply do not have the words to thank him, as thank you doesn’t feel enough.
“The way Tyla talks to Mike is beautiful and she personifies care at an exceptional level. She not only supports Mike, but me as well. It’s been a tough time knowing Mike is struggling, but Tyla is always happy to listen and offer support.”
Olly, says Hayleigh, “is always so calm and assured with Mike”. “When Mike hears that both “Ollies” are on shift in a day, he calls it a “2 Ollie day” and life just can’t get any better.”
Lynette Barrett, CEO, visited Christie to say a personal thank you. “For a parent to have this level of assurance that her son is safe, valued, cared for and happy is worth more than I can possibly imagine,” says Lynette. “You are incredible ambassadors for National Star.”
